The Harlem Renaissance, which began in the 1920s, marked a pivotal artistic movement within the African American community, laying the groundwork for the civil rights movements of the twentieth century. Courageous and influential voices within this movement risked their safety, and sometimes their lives, to champion the significance of the black community, black culture, and black history.

During this era, remarkable visual art, music, and poetry emerged. This typographic poetry book is a tribute to the emotional depth and significance of these literary works, honouring the expressive and profound essence of this important cultural movement.
